Carolina Panthers Roster 2023 Depth Chart - Free HD Wallpaper Download 2025

There was little light to find in the Carolina Panthers' 2023 campaign, and the depth chart tells much of that grim story. Coming off a bold trade that surrendered DJ Moore and a haul of draft picks to the Chicago Bears for the first overall selection, Carolina handed the keys to rookie quarterback Bryce Young under first-year head coach Frank Reich. What followed was one of the bleakest stretches in franchise history, a 2-15 collapse that cost Reich his job before the season even reached December. Examining the roster layer by layer reveals just how thin things were.

Quarterback Depth Chart: Bryce Young Carries the Burden

The quarterback room was the centrepiece of everything, and it carried the weight of the entire organisation. Bryce Young, drafted first overall out of Alabama, opened the season as the undisputed starter, flanked by the wily veteran Andy Dalton as his backup and undeveloped depth behind him. Young's rookie year was punishing: an undersized frame behind a porous offensive line, a rotating cast of receivers, and an offensive scheme that never found its rhythm. Dalton's presence offered steady insurance, but by season's end, the question marks around Carolina's most important position loomed larger than ever. There was no escape from the reality that the franchise had bet everything on one young arm.

Offence and Defence: Breaking Down the Rest of the Roster

Behind Young, the offensive depth chart featured new arrival Miles Sanders at running back, backed up by Chuba Hubbard, while the receiving corps was headlined by free agent signings Adam Thielen and DJ Chark alongside rookie second-round pick Jonathan Mingo. Tight end Hayden Hurst and Tommy Tremble rounded out the skill positions. The offensive line anchored by Taylor Moton and Ikem Ekwonu struggled to protect its young quarterback all year. Defensively, coordinator Ejiro Evero's unit was arguably the side's only silver lining. Brian Burns terrorised edges opposite Yetur Gross-Matos, Shaq Thompson and Frankie Luvu patrolled the second level, and the secondary leaned on Jaycee Horn, Donte Jackson, Vonn Bell and Xavier Woods. Derrick Brown remained a wall up front. Special teams rested on Eddy Piñeiro's boot and Johnny Hekker's punt game. Yet even with those bright spots, the roster's cracks ran deep, and by the time Chris Tabor took over as interim coach, the depth chart had become a symbol of opportunity squandered and a franchise searching for answers in the dark.
