How Good Is Jeremiyah Love

In the world of American football, where raw power so often speaks the loudest, there exists a rare breed of athlete whose influence is felt in stillness before it is ever felt in motion. Jeremiyah Love, the gifted running back for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, embodies this philosophy with every carry. In the tradition of the great Eastern martial arts, where the master is said to win the bout before the first strike lands, Love reads the field with a calm, almost meditative clarity, allowing the chaos around him to resolve itself into a single, perfect lane. He is not merely a runner; he is a study in balance, timing and the quiet mastery of one's own body, and watching him play offers a lesson in patience that transcends sport itself.

The Philosophy of the Patient Runner

There is an ancient saying that water does not resist the stone; it simply flows around it, and in time, the stone is worn smooth. Jeremiyah Love runs with something of that same philosophy. Rather than forcing contact or racing blindly into the teeth of a defence, he allows his blocks to develop, hovering behind his offensive line with a poised patience that is rare in a player so young. Then, in a single heartbeat, he strikes, exploding through the gap with acceleration that leaves defenders grasping at air. His footwork is precise and economical, every step purposeful, every cut deliberate. Coaches often speak of runners who possess "vision," but Love's vision is closer to intuition, a harmony between mind and body cultivated through countless hours of practice. He understands that the greatest gains in life, as on the field, belong to those who wait for the right moment and then commit to it completely, without hesitation and without doubt.

Discipline, Humility and the Long Road to South Bend

In many Eastern traditions, greatness is never claimed; it is earned through quiet, unrelenting effort, and it is always credited to the community that raised the individual. Jeremiyah Love carries himself in exactly this manner. A celebrated schoolboy athlete who arrived at Notre Dame with considerable expectation, he chose the path of humility, learning from the veterans around him and letting his performances speak on his behalf. When he earned the starting role as a freshman and delivered game-changing runs on the grandest stages of college football, he responded not with bravado but with gratitude, praising his offensive line and his coaches before ever mentioning his own achievement. That respect for the collective, for the ancestors of the game who paved the way and for the teammates who block and sacrifice alongside him, is the mark of a true competitor. As he continues to develop his craft in South Bend, his ambition remains steady and clear: to honour the jersey, to serve his team, and to grow a little wiser with every single carry. In a sport that celebrates the individual, Jeremiyah Love reminds us that the greatest runners are those who move with the spirit of the river, patient, powerful and endlessly determined to find the way home.
